Well seeing as Craig and Sharnah have just celebrated their 1st wedding anniversary, I guessed it was time I wrote a blog about their amazing wedding at the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel in Chester.
Apart from the lack of leaves on the trees, you wouldn’t believe it was January. We had great daylight and lovely sunshine throughout most the day and I had the pleasure of being assisted by Neal from Neal McVeigh Photography.
I arrived for bridal prep like always and knew it was going to be a good day even before I entered the room. You could hear Sharnah and her 2 bridesmaids Amber and Sarah laughing from down the hallway as the prosecco corks popped.
The ceremony was held inside the Grosvenor Suite at the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel which made a beautiful setting for Craig and Sharnah to say their “I do’s”.
As for the photo’s….we smashed through them! We even managed to find some time for some smoke grenades and creative flash work indoors and out. We did spend a lot of time in the Japanese gardens at the Grosvenor Pulford with its stunning ponds and waterfall which make the wedding photography opportunities idyllic.
Anyway….. Scroll down to see some of my favourite images from what was an epic day in Chester!

Candid, Converse, Sparklers, Smoke Grenades……I love a good wedding!!!
Its no surprise Mike and Adele had chosen the Grosvenor Pulford for their wedding reception. Its a beautiful venue and offers so many different photo opportunities. Not to mention the fact it was an absolute scorcher of a day so we spent a lot of time outdoors where guests could socialise and lap up the rays with a glass of Pimms! Ok it might not have been Pimms but you get the idea!
The ceremony was held at the gorgeous St Lawrence church in Soak, just outside Ellesmere Port. The vicar is one of the friendliest modern vicars I have ever met. He was taking photos on his iPad and adding his own personal touches to make Mike and Adele’s wedding ceremony perfect.
After the ceremony, we stayed for a few photos with the bridal car at the church before heading over to the Grosvenor Pulford. We made the most of the gorgeous Chester weather and created some stunning images. We even had a little bit of fun later on with some sparklers which was a shot Adele really wanted.

Gemma & Adam, chose to have their wedding at the beautiful Grosvenor Pulford Hotel just outside Chester. It was a hot one!! Not just the wedding but I mean the weather was actually sweltering!
The wedding was one of my biggest weddings on 2017 with over 100 amazing guests making the trip to Chester to see Gemma & Adam tie the knot. I arrived in the morning at the Grosvenor Pulford for bridal prep images with Gemma and her bridesmaids who were nothing short of amazing all day! The ceremony itself…. Well Adam & Gemma’s gorgeous daughter, Amelia wanted centre stage and didn’t want to be anywhere other than with Gemma as the “I do’s” were said.
Because I had the luxury of a rare hot sunny day over Chester, we made the most of the entire day and spent a lot of chilled out time outside. After the ceremony, it was straight into the group photo, family photos and then time for Gemma and Adam to chill before the wedding breakfast. To be honest, by that point it was that hot that I think everyone needed to refuel and hydrate. The speeches…….Well Adam’s best men’s speech was described more as a performance rather than a speech. And it was!! Adam used to be in a boy band with his groomsmen and they made him get up and sing one of their old songs infront of all his family and friends! I would have been fuming but Adam took it all in his stride.
After the meal and a few glasses later, the weather had started to be a bit kinder and it was time for bride and groom photos around the stunning gardens of the Grosvenor Pulford.

My first wedding of June 2016 was the amazing wedding of Wayne and Hayley at the ever popular Grosvenor Pulford Hotel in Chester. For anyone who follows my blogs, you will know what a spectacular venue the Grosvenor Pulford is. It is a venue I have photographed at many times before, and it is easy to see why it is so popular, with its stunning oriental gardens, newly refurbished reception and grand interior features.
One of Hayley’s amazing bridesmaids was tasked to find a photographer for their big day…. and well I was made up when she found me! I met the couple at their home, where we discussed the plans for the big day and I showed them some of my albums. That seems such a long time ago, but before I knew it the big day was here!
Bridal prep started at Hayley’s parents house across the road from St Matthew’s Church in Buckley, where Wayne and Hayley had their marriage ceremony. Then off to the Grosvenor Pulford we went, for the reception and photographs.
Wayne, Hayley and their family and friends were super people to get to know, and helped make the day stress-free and full of laugher. Speaking of entertainment, the bride and groom had hired the amazing Wayne Farrow to perform during the wedding reception and throughout the evening. Wayne literally had guests dancing on the chairs and around the tables.

Chris and Lindsay booked me to photograph their amazing wedding after they saw me photograph another wedding (Faye & Nick) at the Grosvenor Pulford in October 2014. It’s such a great compliment, because not only were they pleased with my portfolio, but they also got to see my approach to a wedding day and how I keep the photography fun and as stress free as possible for the bride, groom and their guests.
I was assisted by the talented Alex Boswell Photography for this wedding, and whilst I was photographing some family shots at Lindsay’s parents house in the morning, Alex was photographing guest arrivals at Northop Hall Country House.
The weather was kind to us as soon as we arrived at the venue, meaning we were able to utilise the stunning lawns as well as the period features inside the hotel.
Chris is a massive fan of his horse racing, and even managed to bring this passion into the wedding by naming all the tables after famous racecourses, and giving each guest their own personalised jockey name.. I seem to remember Chris referred to himself as “Simply A Legend”.
During the evening, Chris and Lindsay had a magician to keep the guests entertained before the disco started. It was all going so well, until I realised Chris and Lindsay’s first dance song was……You’ll Never Walk Alone!! (Yeah I support Man United haha).
