The Doubletree by Hilton in Chester is an amazing place for your wedding and has lots of opportunities for stunning wedding photography. The Abbey Suite is where your wedding would be held, and has lots of rustic charm with bare brick and wooden beams throughout.
The grounds of the Doubletree in Chester are vast and offer so many different locations to have your wedding photographs. I particularly like the rear gardens for bride and groom wedding portraits.
I caught up with Poppy and her bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding during bridal prep. This time I had the pleasure of working with the talented Victoria and Anna from Cheshire Bridal Hair and Makeup.
Maz was greeting wedding guests prior to the ceremony and looking extremely relaxed. We had a few quick photographs with Maz and his groomsmen before the I do’s.
The wedding ceremony was full of laughter and smiles. Poppy and Maz were a pleasure to photograph all day. Not once did the smiles fade. Even when Poppy’s Dad was embarrassing her during his speech!
We covered lots of photographs during the day and even during the evening too. Making the most of the large fountain and pond at the Doubletree Chester, we were able to create some lovely night lit photographs.
The Doubletree Chester has so many features I love from a wedding venue and is one of my favourite wedding venues to photograph.
If you are getting married at the Doubletree Chester, I’d love to hear from you.
Here are a few of my favourite photographs from Maz and Poppy’s wedding day.
There are so many reasons why I love my job. I love meeting new people and capturing your awesome wedding days mostly. But I also get to see new places and taste some amazing food!
Tower Hill Barns in North Wales, has some of the best wedding food I have ever had the joy of tasting. I am a massive foodie (eating not cooking!), and when Jo and her team from Tower Hill Barns asked me to attend their Winter Wedding Food tasting day, and take some photographs of just some of the offerings, I couldn’t refuse. Especially knowing that I would get to eat what was put in front of me once I had finished photographing it. I left Tower Hill Barns that day about a stone heavier and in serious need of an afternoon nap!
All of Tower Hill Barns’ menu is created with the bride and groom in mind. There is so much to choose from and it can be personalised to your requirements or seasonal vibes. The wedding food I had the pleasure of tasting was themed for a Winter wedding. All the food at Tower Hill Barns is sourced locally in North Wales and prepared at the venue.

Matt and Jess, are due to be married at Soughton Hall in North Wales, and I am so excited to be their wedding photographer for the day.
With us all living so close to Chester, it only seemed right that we caught up at the Grosvenor Park for a chat before we cracked on with some candid photography.
Chester has so many amazing opportunities for engagement and wedding photography, but we chose to stay close to the Grosvenor Park, as the colours were amazing. It was an Autumn afternoon and the orange leaves looked amazing. We ventured off slightly around the Chester walls before heading back home.
We hadn’t long started before the photobombers came. I’m not talking about cyclists or people walking their dogs. We had an abundance of squirrels who were all wanting their photograph taking with Jess and Matt! Jess particularly got on well with the squirrels, feeding them nuts. I am a bit more reserved and was happy to photograph from a distance.
It’s not long now until Jess and Matt’s wedding day in North Wales, and I can’t wait to be part of it!
Here are a few of my favourite photographs from their Chester engagement shoot.
A Chester Wedding! Dale and Natalie were married at Oddfellows in Chester. Oddfellows is not only one of my favourite city centre hangouts, but it makes an amazing wedding venue! It is a unique, modern and classy bar, restaurant and hotel which regularly plays host to many live acts as well as exclusive weddings in their upstairs area with private terrace.
Natalie, her bridesmaids and mum were getting ready just down the road at Oddfellows apartments. I had never actually been to these before, but wow they are incredible. They continue with the modern and trendy theme throughout.
I was assisted by Neal from Neal Mcveigh Photography throughout the day. We all covered some serious mileage around Chester! I am a Cestrian at heart being born there, and love exploring around the walls, the Grosvenor Park, the River Dee and the Eastgate Clock. Obviously we were going to use all these locations in Dale and Natalie’s wedding photos!
But first…After much laughter and fun during bridal prep, it was a short hop over to Oddfellows where Dale and Natalie said I do. I’m sure both Dale and Natalie were pretty nervous but the nerves weren’t really on display. Just lots of smiles! Myself and Neal captured many candid photos up until the wedding breakfast as well as the most have family photographs. Oddfellows has a unique outdoor bar area which looks so cool and make an awesome backdrop for an alternative wedding photo.
Following the wedding breakfast, it was time to get away from everybody for a little bit so Dale and Natalie could have some time together. Well….Kind of. We went exploring Chester which is a pretty busy city anyway, but when you’ve got 2 photographers and a beautiful white wedding dress, you’re going to attract some attention.
We all had such a amazing, relaxed time whilst out and about. There was 1 or 2 more formalities though. Cutting the cake and first dance. After first dance, Dale and Natalie jumped in a taxi and headed from Oddfellows to Chester city centre. We decided to do a couple of pictures at the Eastgate clock. These are still some of my favourite pictures I’ve ever taken!
Thank you Dale and Natalie for being so awesome. Here are a few of my favourites from your wedding day.
