Soughton Hall Wedding Photography
Everything about Will and Kait’s wedding at Soughton Hall oozed class, style and the overall wow factor! Pretty incredible when you consider Kaitlin was organising the wedding all the way from California whilst Will was serving the armed forces here in the UK.
I had managed to meet with Will and Kait on one occasion prior to the wedding and immediately knew it was going to be an epic wedding. Kaitlin had shown me some ideas which she loved and Will was had a lot of his friends from the forces who were going to be in attendance in full military dress including an abundance of swords! I did feel a little left out not having a sword 🙁
I arrived at Soughton Hall in the morning for Kaitlin’s bridal prep images where I was greeted by both families, including those who made the trip over from California. Such a friendly bunch! The bride and her bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning and I have to say the groom and groomsmen also matched up in their uniforms. Will and Kait also exchanged notes on the morning of the wedding behind one of the oak doors at Soughton Hall. It was a military operation in itself making sure Will and Kait didn’t see each other before they said I do. The weather over Soughton Hall started off as any typical North Wales day…. Rain. It soon cleared though and we were able to enjoy the stunning gardens of Soughton Hall and create some gorgeous photos. We were even able to get back outside during the evening for some sparkler photographs. Always fun…and occasionally worrying for the guests who have been lacquered in hairspray!!
Here are a few of my favourites from William and Kaitlin’s amazing wedding at Soughton Hall.

Ruthin Castle Wedding Photographer
This was the first wedding I had the pleasure of photographing at Ruthin Castle. Situated high within the North Wales landscape, Ruthin Castle is an absolute corker of a venue, whether you are having a small intimate wedding, or a huge gathering with an amazing medieval banquet wedding breakfast to match!
Becky and Steve had a small but perfect wedding, with their closest family and friends who had all made the trip up to Ruthin from the Midlands.
North Wales weather isn’t glorious at the best of times, and although the sun shone over Ruthin Castle, let me tell you it was flipping freezing! Not a single complaint from Becky in her beautiful wedding dress though!
I arrived in the morning at Ruthin Castle for Becky’s make-up shots and also to capture some candid moments of Steve with his family and friends around him in the bar. I could have stayed in the bar area all day.. A photographers dream! Huuuuuge windows letting in masses of natural light. I wouldn’t expect anything less from a castle as grand as Ruthin Castle.
Following the ceremony, we went straight outside for family photographs, before taking Steve and Becky out for their Bride and Groom portraits in Ruthin Castle’s stunning gardens! We didn’t stay out too long due to the risk of hypothermia, and it was soon time for Steve and Becky’s wedding breakfast. I’ve seen many table centres before such as huge martini glasses, gold fish bowls, bird cages.etc but this was the first time I had seen 90’s board games as a table centre! There were Hungry Hippo’s, Pop-up Pirates and more! I wish I could have stayed longer.
Anyway……Here are a selection of some of my favourite photos from Steve and Becky’s brilliant wedding day at Ruthin Castle.

Plas Hafod Hotel Wedding Photographer
Steven and Alison were married at the Plas Hafod Hotel in October 2016. By now, if you read my blogs you’ll see how popular the Plas Hafod Hotel is and why I love photographing there. The gardens are always immaculate and Collette, Simon and their team work tirelessly to make sure your day runs without hiccup.
I arrived at the Plas Hafod Hotel for Alison’s bridal prep photographs, where the beautiful bride and her 3 beautiful bridesmaids were all getting ready. Alison is one of the calmest brides I have ever worked with, and even on the morning of the wedding she was making table decorations, and getting in a some cheeky sambuca shots before walking down the aisle!
One of my favourite photographs I have ever taken was during Steven and Alison’s wedding… If you scroll down you will see their son Warren walking Alison down the aisle with his toy dinosaur. I just love the smiles across both of their faces… Alison so happy to have her son giving her away, and Warren so happy to have his toy dinosaur make it to the wedding!
Daylight was limited as it was late October, so we did do some shots during the evening to make sure everything was covered; from family photos, candid shots and bride and groom portraits. To be honest, I’m not even sure if the guests noticed we had gone, as everyone was so busy having such a good time inside with the Blackjack and Roulette tables!

Tower Hill Barns Wedding Photography
Paul and Faz chose to hold their Wedding Celebrations at the beautiful Tower Hill Barns in Llangollen. Planning a wedding is stressful enough at the best of times… But Paul and Faz both live in Australia and had never actually viewed their wedding venue until the week before the ceremony was due to take place! How Paul and Faz managed to obtain such an amazing venue, secure all their suppliers and plan the most perfect day, just by using Google and communicating by email, is beyond me!
My day began at a private lodge in Llangollen, where Faz and her bridesmaids were staying. The surrounding views of Llangollen were amazing! Anyway, you already know what a massive fan I am of North Wales weddings! I am so lucky to have so many amazing venues on my doorstep.
When I arrived at Tower Hill Barns, it was easy to see why Paul and Faz fell in love with the venue (even though they had only seen pictures before). Huge windows with daylight flooding through, beautiful gardens, wide open spaces and quirky touches such as an old railway bridge.
TOP TIP – If you’re reading this and planning your wedding, have a think about a toastmaster. I was joined by Malcolm Kindon http://malcolm-kindon.co.uk/ who was on hand for every single eventuality, and to help the day run smoothly.
Anyway, as usual I am rambling!

Plas Hafod Hotel Wedding Photography
I photographed so many weddings at the amazing Plas Hafod Hotel in 2016, I’m beginning to feel like I should have an invite to their annual Christmas party 😉
As always, the Plas Hafod Hotel looked as stunning as ever and the sun shone all day which meant we were able to make the most of the immaculate gardens. Clare has to be one of the calmest brides I have ever had the pleasure in photographing. From the moment I arrived at the Plas Hafod for her bridal prep photographs through to the first dance, there didn’t appear to be any nerves at all.
Clare had also made her own beautiful bouquet, as well as various other handmade finishing touches to make their wedding extra special.
Clare and Si had a fairly large wedding and it just goes to show how popular, and how loved Clare and Si are by their friends and families.
Everyone was having such a good time, before we knew it…First dance was upon us.
Here are a few favourites from what was an amazing day at Plas Hafod Hotel.
