Soughton Hall Wedding Photographer
I’ve blogged about Soughton Hall a few times now, as it is such a popular venue in North Wales, and I have had the pleasure of photographing there numerous times over the last few years. Every time I turn down the huge driveway, with Soughton Hall in the distance, I am always spellbound by how amazing this venue is, and how lucky I am to be asked to photograph a couples special day there.
Carys and Lewis are genuinely one of the most “loved up”, happy and friendliest couples I have ever met, and I was over the moon when they chose me to photograph their wedding day at Soughton Hall. Both have a huge passion for music, with Carys being a solo artist and Lewis being one half of Mavmac; so it was to no surprise that during their evening reception they both performed, with Carys on vocals and Lewis on drums.
Anyway…the day itself….
We started at Carys’ mum’s house in Rhyl for hair and make-up, where Carys, her family and her bridesmaids were all in high spirits as the bubbles were poured. As a wedding photographer, I am asked quite often to help out with non-photography related tasks such as buttons holes, cufflinks, transporting dresses from one venue to another, but this was the first time I was asked to finish buttoning up a brides dress!! No pressure then!! Turns out I was best equipped for the job as I didn’t have false nails on….
We arrived at Soughton Hall fashionably late, but I’m sure Lewis would agree that his beautiful bride was well worth the wait. Carys and Lewis had both written their own vows for, which caused quite a few tears in the room. After the ceremony, it was straight outside for photographs and to enjoy the beautiful summer sunshine in the grounds of Soughton Hall. Even Cookie (the dog) made an appearance. I could have spent all day photographing Carys and Lewis as they were so natural, but sadly daylight wouldn’t allow it and nor would the chef 😉
As for the speeches…. Stephen’s best man speech (well musical slideshow) was one of the best I’ve ever seen! So much time and effort had gone into stitching his brother up! 2 of the bridesmaids also did a speech and a song to Madonna’s “Like a prayer”… Absolutely brilliant! I sometimes wish I could video as well as take photo’s so I could show you.
I’m sure you haven’t come here to listen to me go on about how amazing this wedding was, so please take a look at the images below from Carys’ and Lewis’ special day at Soughton Hall.
